During the Big Data Expo this Wednesday and Thursday, fifteen data science experts will compete in the Xomnia Datathon 'Fully connected traveling'. KLM, Schiphol Group, NS, and Provincie Gelderland will provide the data, while all computational power will be provided through the Google Cloud Platform!
The data scientists will be organized in teams, with the goal of developing the winning model for realizing the fastest and most comfortable transport to the given destination. The teams may approach this challenge using a variety of machine learning techniques, including decision trees, neural networks, and evolutionary algorithms. The solutions will be visualized on a large screen. There will be cool prizes for the team that can get closest to the ultimate goal: zero minutes total waiting time.
